I've noticed the ongoing battle (and subsequent discussion) regarding speeding traffic. Not sure if you are aware of a wonderful grassroots website www.stopspeeders.org. You'll find a review of various traffic calming solutions including but links to over a dozen 3rd-party studies on the subject – as well as information on funding and other related topics.

Many communities have found radar speed signs to be the perfect solution. Studies show they typically work better than speed bumps, rumble strips and other traditional methods AND they don't increase traffic noise or interfere with emergency vehicles.

I hope a thorough review of options is conducted before money is wasted on antiquated methods that become more of a bother than a solution.

Thank you for your comment.

I've been working with the city for about 6 years on this subject. We do have solar driver feedback signs on our major collector streets.

While they are effective to the conscience driver, they have not proven to be a "perfect solution". The public works department is using multiple ways of traffic calming to help our neighborhood.
